Digital Democracies is pleased to offer a range of artistic commissions allowing new and experimental work to be tested publicly.

As the project brings together three leading art and digital culture festivals we are able to connect audiences and art in a unique way. Commissioned artists will have the opportunity to present projects (including prototypes and pilots) in public spaces around the UK.

The first of these co-commissioned works, A Portrait Without Borders was presented by Kaleider at Freedom Festival 2020.

The second Digital Democracies commission 5000 Miles premiered at Brighton Festival in May. Presented by Lighthouse (with funding from Re-Imagine Europe and Arts Council England) the immersive ambisonic audio work will continue engaging audiences throughout 2021.

The third commission Her Story was launched at Brighton Festival in May.

More information about future commissions will be announced here and via the project partners.

Follow Threshold Studios, Freedom Festival, and Lighthouse on social media for regular updates on these and other creative opportunities.
